“Thank you for an excellent visit to your workshop. Your description and demonstration of the methods you used to prepare the fossils from their natural state was very clear and most interesting. Your fascinating shop and workshop – truly a hidden treasure.”
Tim Colman - East Midlands Geological Society
“Plesiosaur paddle ….then it was professionally prepared by Richard and Mark Hawkes at Stone Treasures of Edwinstowe.”

“Stone Treasures, Richard’s rocks and fossil specimens are superb and always beautifully pre-pared. On several occasions, he has gone out of his way to find particular items for me that I have had searched for unsuccessfully elsewhere. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to others with similar interests.”

Stone Treasures have performed fossil preparation on my behalf since 1993. Examples of the work completed by Stone Treasures for me include numerous vertebrate and invertebrate fossils from many different localities across the world. The majority of the specimens I collect are complicated and very challenging to prepare. Irrespective, Stone Treasures have always been up to the task and completed the work to an extremely high standard. The quality of the fossil preparation performed by Stone Treasures would not be out of place on display in a museum. Fossil preparation is a niche market, but based on cost and (more importantly) the standard of work, Stone Treasures should be considered amongst the very best.
