Amber

Amber, an organic gem, is fossilized tree resin with a resinous lustre and a smooth surface. As it was a soft, sticky resin, it sometimes contains trapped insects, animals and plant material as inclusions. True amber is around 25-60 million years old. The Greeks called it 'elektron' meaning electricity as it becomes charged when rubbed with fur or wool. Colours vary from white, yellow, orange, green, blue and black.

Our range includes small specimens & minerals with onsect from £5 to larger specialist individual pieces. Jewellery can be ordered just let us know size and colour and we will do our best to source these at competitive prices.
